CrapeMurder.com was created by the collaborative efforts of arborists, landscape architects, horticulturists, and landscape contractors. The term “Crape Murder” is usually used in a lighthearted manner when referring to an improperly pruned Crapemyrtle tree. We love Crapemyrtles... and all trees for that matter!

Our Mission is to eliminate improper tree pruning, including Crape Murder, through education and entertainment.

This site is dedicated to identifying poorly pruned trees (not just Crapemyrtles) in a lighthearted manner, while attempting to educate homeowners, contractors, arborists, and property managers. Our goal is to reduce the number of Crape Murder "victims" and other forms of tree maiming and disfigurement. While certified arborists are fully qualified and trained to properly prune trees, there are numerous examples of Crape Murder and improper tree pruning performed by homeowners, landscape contractors, and unqualified tree companies.

Yes, we are having fun with this site… who hasn’t joked about Crapemyrtles and Crape Murder??? But we also want to provide awareness and knowledge in order to improve tree pruning practices.
